Event Details

This Fair Housing course is designed especially for Maintenance Techs.

Service Techs have the most contact with residents on a day-to-day basis and since all property management actions have a fair housing component, all service techs need this training.

Techs will be informed of the importance of fair housing guidance on the best practices in dealing with service orders, complaints, requests for exceptions, interactions with service animals and pets, and how to deal with strangers who cross the property in a non-harassing manner.

  • To analyze how these laws impact service technicians and their encounters with all consumer groups.
  • Review common discriminatory practices made by service technicians and the consequences that could follow such practices.
  • Provide information that will assist service technicians in reducing their risk in fair housing compliance as they relate to all consumer groups.
  • Challenge service technicians’ ability to apply fair housing laws, good business, and consumer service to common issues in their daily encounters with consumers.

Attendees will receive access to the Miami Valley Fair Housing curriculum for Maintenance Techs and web resources they can access when questions arise.
